Custom Monument Designs was founded in 1985.  The company started as a design service to the monument industry, specializing in custom hand-drawn artwork for monument dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada. As the years progressed, all of the hand-drawn artwork was converted digitally into our CAD programs that we still use today to provide pre-cut stencils of our designs to monument dealers across the country.  With our talented artists we continue to provide top quality artwork and stencils for our clients.

In the late 90's, when we moved to our current location, we expanded our services to include monument sales and services to the public.  Conveniently located on Boston Road in Wilbraham we now provide Wilbraham, Springfield and surrounding communities with personalized memorials, monuments, slants, markers, benches, pet markers and garden stones, as well as offering specialty drafting, engraving, etchings and monument cleaning.

In 2015, Custom Monument Designs was acquired by Graeme Everson of Mercer Monument Works in Plainfield, CT. A long time drafting client of CMD, Graeme was looking for his company to grow and wanted to add a designing department to his team.  With the addition of CMD, both Mercer Monument Works and Custom Monument Designs can now guide you through every step, from the designing stage, through the engraving, to the installation.
